What if a demon were to creep after you one night, in your loneliest loneliness, and say, 'This life which you live must be lived by you once again and innumerable times more; and every pain and joy and thought and sigh must come again to you, all in the same sequence. The eternal hourglass will again and again be turned and you with it, dust of the dust!' Would you throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse that demon? Or would you answer, 'Never have I heard anything more divine'? I'd like to know your answers

Thus far in my life, I'd have to curse the demon. I've dealt with many ups and downs, and things I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemies. But who knows what the future holds, in a year I might be saying the exact opposite.

While I'd curse the demon, I'd be tempted to cast it upon my enemies. I mean, c'mon! Here's a way for them to understand all the crud that you were put through! Like that one time that person made you go out with a person on Facebook and she was fake! Or when you dressed up like Sepiroth the school bully but he still beat you up! Everybody has problems like that, right?

I'm a transhumanist so I don't intend to ever die anyway.

If I'm struck down I shall become more powerful than you can ever imagine.
