Do you think we live in the Matrix, not like in the actual movie world but in an illusion imposed on our brains created by an outside source.

I don't, and I don't believe that if we did it would make any difference; if people are miserable in the Matrix, that misery is real, if people are cruel to each other in the Matrix, that cruelty is real, if people are happy in the Matrix then that happiness is real. We need to learn to live with each other without making a wreck of things, regardless of where it is we happen to live - in the Matrix or out of it.

We need to learn to live with each other without making a wreck of things, regardless of where it is we happen to live - in the Matrix or out of it. Reality is nothing but a simulation anyways. Colour, touch, these are all illusory in some sense or another. It's fundamentally all just an assortment of a few dozen base elements, which in turn are made up of an even smaller variety of particles, which in turn are possibly all just different only in terms of frequency of quantum vibration. Whatever the universe is made up of, or wherever it presides, the only thing that give it meaning is our sentient selves and our perception of it. This is honestly why I never understood why everyone is so eager to leave the Matrix. Who cares if the simulated atoms and quarks are all actually simulated by a computer, the people are real, the relationships real, and therefore the experience is real. If the universe exists in a computer, so be it. It's still our universe, it still exists, nothing has practically changed.
